WINSTED, MN – The Winsted Town Crier for the next Winsted Council meeting Tuesday, Dec. 1. The only item scheduled for the December 1st agenda is the City’s Truth in Taxation hearing on the proposed levy for 2010. A preliminary levy was adopted in September with a .6% increase. Property owners have been sent proposed property tax statements, and Truth in Taxation Notices, from McLeod County, which show how the .6% levy increase would affect their individual property taxes. A full Truth in Taxation presentation is available on the City’s website and face book page. If you have any questions on the proposed tax levy, please call City Hall or e-mail administrator@winsted.mn.us.
In another matter, the City Council will review a report from the Building Inspector on a public nuisance being maintained at 404 Westgate Drive. The home located at 404 Westgate Drive has been damaged due to a fire and is currently in violation of the city’s public nuisance ordinance. The property owner may contest the public nuisance determination at the Council’s December 1st meeting.
The meeting will wrap up with a report from the City Engineer.
The “Town Crier” is created using the preliminary agenda for the upcoming City Council meeting by Winsted City Administrator, Brent Mareck. For a complete listing of all agenda items please visit www.winsted.mn.us or pick an agenda up at City Hall.
