Winsted man pleads guilty to criminal sexual conduct

WINSTED, MN–Initially charged with 11 counts of criminal sexual conduct involving girls and a young woman, a Winsted man recently pleaded guilty to one felony and two gross-misdemeanor counts in McLeod County District Court according to a press release.

McLeod County District Court Judge Jessica Maher sentenced Carl Ray Moorman Friday, Nov. 12, to six months in the county jail and five years on probation.

He must also complete a chemical dependency and a psycho-sexual evaluations and have no contact with the victims. The criminal complaint and statement of probable cause says Moorman, 53, had conducted non-consensual sexual contact with the victims ranging from ages 14 to 19 between December of 2018 and May of 2020.

Notified in May of 2020, Winsted police interviewed a half-dozen victims who reported Moorman had discussed their physical appearance and touched them inappropriately outside and inside of their clothing.
