Winsted looks at new snowblower purchase

WINSTED, MN — One item on the agenda for the Tuesday, May 2 Winsted City Council work session is discussion about a potential industrial snowblower purchase. The city currently uses a 1994 Fair Manufacturing 742 industrial snowblower, which has components in need of repair.

The work session will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Lewis Room of Winsted City Hall, followed by the regular council meeting at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.

Look for coverage of both meetings in the Monday, May 8 edition of the Herald Journal.

  1. City Taxpayer says:

Maybe they can pay for this with the money they are saving from not having as much snow to plow the past few years. Where did the savings in the budget go?

  2. City Taxpayer says:

And will this purchase be like the one when they bought a new street sweeper and paid $22,500 more than the original bid? (see city council work session minutes from 7-21-15) They had to pay more of our tax dollars because the current public works director (Dave Meyer) wouldn’t do his job correctly and missed an important deadline for the original price.

  3. Starrla Cray says:

Here is information on the street sweeper that was referenced:

  4. Tom says:

    Dear City Taxpayer
Isn’t it nice that you can talk about things you don’t know the facts about and then hid behind a name like City Taxpayer?

  5. City Taxpayer says:

And you hide behind a common name like “TOM”? Is your middle name dick with a last name harry?
