WINSTED, MN – The city has done street and infrastructure projects in the past and has assessed properties, but hasn’t had a formal written policy in place.
The purpose of the assessment policy is to provide a fair and equitable way to distribute the costs of the projects to property owners.
The policy has been reviewed by the council and it’s looking for public comment, so a public information hearing has been set for the council meeting Tuesday, March 16 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.

Bolton & Menk City Engineer Jake Saulsbury told the council that before there would be any assessment of property, there would be a preliminary assessment hearing to let the property owners involved know the cost and the scope of the project.
