WATERTOWN, MN –If you were to take a poll of the WMHS 2009 graduating class, very few would be able to recite the lyrics to our school song. The High School Public Relations committee has been discussing the possibility of updating and revitalizing these lyrics in an effort to increase school spirit and Royal Pride. We realize that a strong tradition and positive memories surround the current school song for many alumni of Watertown-Mayer High School.; however, we also believe that the possibility of modifying the lyrics would provide an exciting opportunity for the school song to include the entire name of our school; Watertown and Mayer, as well as the current ideas of our students and future graduates. We would like to have input about this topic from community members, past graduates and current students. Please contact the Public Relations Committee, hsprcommittee@wm.k12.mn.us, to share your thoughts.
Watertown, Watertown, that’s the place for me!
Fairest high school in the state that’s what she’ll always be, rah rah rah!
Shout her praises, sing her graces, show the world we’re wise!
We’ll always boost our high school to the skies.
Fight!
Watertown, Watertown, on to victory!
Show the rest that we’re the best and that we’ll always be, rah rah rah!
Watertown, Watertown fight for school and fame!
Fight Royals, fight, fight, fight,
To win this game!
