Watertown man takes first place in truck driving contest

CARVER COUNTY, MN – Steven Berwald of Watertown, a professional truck driver for US Foodservice, took first place in his class at the 63rd annual Minnesota Truck Driving Championships, the Carver County News reported.

Overall, 98 professional truck drivers came to FedEx Ground facilities in Mahtomedi from across the state to compete for the title of the state’s best truck driver.

Berwald will compete in the 2009 National Truck Driving Champion-ships in August in Pittsburg, Pa.

The Minnesota Truck Driving Championships is an annual competition hosted by the Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) Safety Council.
