Two dead, two critical after crash on Highway 7 in McLeod County

Two people are dead and two are in critical condition following a crash in rural McLeod County according to the Minnesota State Patrol. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 7 in Rich Valley Township, when a westbound Jeep and an eastbound Buick collided. The driver of the Buick, 34-year-old Chad Michael Guzinski of Mayer, was killed, as was the Jeep’s driver, 68-year-old Thomas Francis Burns of Watertown, South Dakota. The passengers of both vehicles — a 27-year-old man in the Buick and a 64-year-old woman in the Jeep — were taken to Hennepin Healthcare with life-threatening injuries. All four were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, a MSP incident report indicates . The crash is now under investigation.
