In Winsted, the annual farmers market got started up this past week. It took place at Hainlin Park Wednesday, June 22. The market had been on Thursdays the year before. However, organizers moved the date back to the original Wednesday date to avoid conflicting with Howard Lakes Farmers Market, which takes place on Thursdays.
Organizers hope the date change will allow more growers and customers to participate in the market.
With the market starting again, organizers have already gained vendors and are hoping to get even more as the summer goes on. This year, the market has an assortment of items from vegetables, baked goods, canned goods, eggs, soaps, and even handcrafted items.
