A note from New Life Academy: Friday’s boys basketball game at New Life is our Coaches and Players vs.
Cancer night. We are raising money for a teacher at New Life whose wife is battling cancer for the 2nd time.
We are having a Change For A Cure bucket where we are having our kids bring loose change to donate and we
are selling paper airplanes to have an airplane toss at halftime of our game. Your fans are welcome to buy
airplanes to win prizes but they do not have to feel obligated to do anything. See you Friday.
There will be captain’s practice for all softball players starting this Sunday, Feb 5th at 2 PM at Holy Trinity.
This is not mandatory.

AWESOME! I am extending the deadline to sign-up. If you are still interested in being part of the team, pick
up a packet in the office or see Mr. Bjork for details. The final sign-up day is TODAY. All forms and fees
MUST be in by this date. Please pay close attention to the fees for the team. Also, make sure that you include a
copy of your Firearms Safety Certificate from the MN DNR with all of the other forms. See Mr. Bjork if you

SNO-FEST
This announcement is for the 6-12 grade students. First, a reminder that the week of February 13-17 is Sno-Fest
week. There will be a future announcement regarding the week’s schedule. Sno-Fest falls under the same
jurisdiction as other school activities with regards to grades, and therefore, the policy is the same for Sno-Fest
activities as it is for basketball, wrestling, etc. Please see the handbook for the policy. Also, if you have
absentee time to make up for the first semester or an outstanding detention, you will not be allowed to
participate if that is not taken care of by Friday, February 10. One last note – your class dues must be paid.

million others with the disease want a cure to be found. It would be a dream
come true for all of them. They would have the freedom of no more finger
pokes, insulin injections, carb. counting, and worry of all the devastating
complications such as heart disease, kidney and nerve damage, and blindness.
JDRF is committed to finding a Cure for the sake of both children and adults.

Congratulations to the 5th grade boys basketball on bringing home 1st this past weekend at the Glencoe
tournament by defeating Glencoe 31-14, NYA 35-29 and Rockford 19-9. Awesome job! The boys are off to a
great start this year with a overall 13-1 record. Keep up the hard work!!!! – Coach Z

When is the last time you saw a high school wrestling match? Well here is a great opportunity for you. The
GSLLP wrestling team is very excited to have its first LP home match since 2007. This coming Tuesday night
January 31st, the team will take on Mound-Westonka. The junior varsity will start at 6:30 with the varsity to
follow. It will be alumni night so all past wrestlers, coaches and cheerleaders are encouraged to attend. Please
help us welcome our wrestlers back to LP with a gym full of fans and cheer them on to a victory.
The Junior Class concession stand workers for Tuesday, January 31 wrestling meet are Rebbekkah Jericho,
Ashle Lukes, and Heather Will. Please be at the school by 6:15 p.m.

The Regional Future Problem Solving Bowl will be held at St. Cloud State University Tuesday, January 31st

AWESOME! I am extending the deadline to sign-up. If you are still interested in being part of the team, pick
up a packet in the office or see Mr. Bjork for details. The final sign-up day is now Friday February 3rd. All
forms and fees MUST be in by this date. Please pay close attention to the fees for the team. Also, make sure
that you include a copy of your Firearms Safety Certificate from the MN DNR with all of the other forms. See
Mr. Bjork if you have questions.

The next free lunch will be TODAY at the Lester Prairie City Hall. We will also be working for Feed My Starving children while at City Hall. The middle school students will work from 11:00-12:00 and eat from 12:00-12:20. The high school students will work from 12:00-1:00 and eat from 1:00-1:20.
