Vehicle rolls after hitting roundabout at Highway 7 and Highway 25 near Mayer

CARVER COUNTY, MN – The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a rollover crash at the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 25 north of Mayerat 6:52 a.m Saturday morning. According to the State Patrol, the vehicle, a 2000 Cadilac DeVille, was eastbound on Highway 7 when it hit the roundabout, vaulted over, and rolled several times. Two people sustained serious injuries and were extricated from the vehicle. Their names have not yet been released. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.

UPDATE 3-15-10 The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of the driver and passenger, both of whom are listed in critical condition. The driver was Travis A. Westgaard, 21, of Maple Grove. The passenger was Samantha R. Mundahl, 24, of Maple Grove.

Fatal crash takes place near Watertown

CARVER COUNTY, MN – The Carver County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Carver County Road 24 near Oxford Avenue east of Watertown at 7:47 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 1.
Deputies responding noted the road was frost-glassed and slippery, according to the sheriff’s office

The initial investigation revealed that an eastbound car on County Road 24, driven by a 28-year-old female from Montrose apparently lost control and skidded sideways on the road and was struck broadside by a westbound van driven by a 47-year-old man from Waconia. Both drivers were transported to Ridgeview Medical Center. The female was pronounced dead at the hospital. The male sustained minor injury. The names have not yet been released.
Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash.

Two-vehicle crash temporarily blocks Highway 212

McLEOD COUNTY, MN – A two-vehicle crash blocked both lanes of Highway 212 near Tagus Avenue at about 8:20 a.m. Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

A 2008 Pontiac GXP driven by Olivia C. Jeseritz, 18, of Granite Falls, sideswiped a 2002 Freightliner conversion truck driven by James F. Trettin, 69, of Hutchinson. Trettin’s vehicle rolled over after he attempted to avoid Jeseritz’s vehicle. Trettin was treated and released. No information was given regarding Jeseritz’s condition.

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Department also assisted at the scene.

Vehicle damaged south of Winsted

WINSTED, MN – The McLeod County sheriff’s office received a damage to property report regarding an incident that occurred at 3105 230th Street, south of Winsted shortly after 3:30 p.m. Aug. 14. A 2001 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Axel Gene and Nicolette Cloyd Larson of Foley, received approximately $265 in damage whena roof bag flew off of a 2002 Dodge Caravan ownded by Deana Dell Atkinson, 34, of Sartel, and smashed the rear window of the Impala. There were no injuries. The investigation will continue.

Two vehicle accident takes place in front of sweet corn stand in Stewart

STEWART, MN – The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle accident that took place on Highway 212, west of Winona Street, in Stewart. On Aug. 22, a 2008 Ford Taurus, owned and driven by Dennis Ervin Zobel, 55, of Forestberg, SD, received more than $1,000 in damage when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Ford pickup, owned and driven by Clint Steven Olson of Olivia. Zobel’s vehicle stopped abruptly in the middle of the road to allow the vehicle in front of it to pull into a sweet corn stand on the north side of the road. Olson did not have time to stop, either, and also received more than $1,000 in damage. No injuries were reported, and both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Hit-and-run crash takes place in Winsted

WINSTED, MN – The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office investigated a hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday, Aug. 15 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. in front of 451 Third Street South, north of Arthur Avenue in Winsted. A 2000 Chrysler Town and Country van, owned by Dale Brian McCrea, Jr., 32, of Glencoe, received more than $1,000 in damage. The driver returned and found a damaged mirror hanging from some wires. Other damage extended from the right front bumper to the area near the right-side passenger mirror. There were no known witnesses. The investigation will continue.
