The Dragons had a hard time just getting shots on goal, let alone getting one to the back of the net, when it took on Wright County Conference foe Orono, in Litchfield Tuesday, Dec. 9, and lost 5-0.
The Trojans’ offense controlled the puck for the majority of the game as it peppered LDC’s goalie, Erin Wegner, with 60 shots. Meanwhile, the Dragons were only able to muster nine the entire game.
DC was able to keep the Trojans at just one goal in the first period, but the levee broke in the second period as Orono rattled off three unanswered goals. One more near the end of the third period sealed the 5-0 victory.
LDC also had a game Friday, Dec. 12, and lost 8-0 in Rogers. Statistics from that game were not reported when this issue went to press.
