With HLWW’s Keith Diers knocking down two game-winning 3-pointers for the Lakers boys’ basketball team in back-to-back games, it got me thinking. What are some of the best, local clutch performances from the past? One of recent memory was when Joe Kley hit an 8th inning home run to tie the game up against Young America for the Winsted Wildcats in the Region 7C tournament last year. Any you can think of, please post.

Gotta go with Matt Wroge’s 3-bomb in last year’s State High School Basketball tourney against Cass Lake-Bena.
Wroge’s 3-bomb (I call it a “bomb” cuz it was 6 ft behind the arc), brought the Bulldogs within 1 point with 10 seconds to go. Here’s the weblink for the video of that shot:

The Bulldogs wound up losing the game, but that shot was clutch.
CentralMNGuy, that is a good one. Hope to hear of many more.
how about Derek Swedberg’s three pointers?!?!
Derek did have an oustanding playoff run, and was great that whole season. His performance during the Lakers state tournament run ranks right up there.
the hl-w-w girls going to state this season. wow! might not be an individual clutch performance, but it is even better as a team performance.
