Well, after doing a pretty good job of getting a blog up a week, I’ve missed posting a new one these past few weeks. Been pretty busy, but that is no excuse. So, without further delay, I’ll get to a new one right now. What I was thinking was, with March Madness now here, what is your favorite high school state tournament, and why? Mine is the state hockey tournament, for several reasons. First, I just enjoy the high level of competition. Second, the tradition is great. Lastly, you just never know when there could be a 3-overtime game, which ends when some fourth-winger, who has only 2 or 3 career goals, lights the lamp.
Hello all my readers. How many of you are there? Well, I’m not sure, but by the few responses I’ve been getting, I’m guessing not too many. With that said, I would like to ask this question to everyone that either reads this blog on a regular basis, or even if you just happen to stumble across it. My question is this – what would you like me to blog about? Please, keep it clean and sports related, and I’ll blog on every topic that gets put here.
I wasn’t all that happy with the Twins’ trade of Johan Santana to the New York Mets. Yes, I knew he was going to be traded, and I have come to accept that. However, if the four players they got were all they were going to get, I would have rather had them keep him for this season, and roll the dice. What are some of your thoughts?
With HLWW’s Keith Diers knocking down two game-winning 3-pointers for the Lakers boys’ basketball team in back-to-back games, it got me thinking. What are some of the best, local clutch performances from the past? One of recent memory was when Joe Kley hit an 8th inning home run to tie the game up against Young America for the Winsted Wildcats in the Region 7C tournament last year. Any you can think of, please post.
It pains me to say this, but the Gophers men’s basketball team is better than the Gophers men’s hockey team. I know, I didn’t belive I’d ever utter those words, but it is so true right now. The Gopher hockey team is struggling, and couldn’t even beat an average St. Cloud State team this past weekend. Meanwhile, the men’s hoop team pulled out a nice road win at Penn State, and look like the real deal. My question is this – are they for real, or is Tubby Smith getting it down with smoke and mirrors? I can’t answer it, but I do hope that they are for real, and that they don’t go in the tank as the Big 10 season wears on. What I do know, is that they are going to be good for years to come as long as Tuby is running the program. Go Gophers!
