MOUND – After a rough week of play, the Dassel-Cokato girls’ golf team got back going in the right direction Thursday at the Burl Oaks Golf Course in Mound.
At the very start of the season, the Chargers’ overall score was right in with the pack, and only a few strokes off of some of the big dogs like Waconia, Orono, and Annandale.
After this week of play, however, DC has plummeted down to seventh place, and is 25 strokes back from sixth-place Delano.
At the Mound-Westonka meet, the Chargers started playing a little bit better golf, but still took eighth place with a team score of 217.
DC’s overall score this season in WCC meets is 870.

DELANO – A baseball team needs three things to win games – good pitching, hitting, and defense.
Friday, when the Dassel-Cokato baseball team (3-4, 2-3 WCC) hosted Wright County Conference rival Delano, in Dassel, the Chargers were missing two of those three pieces.
Starting on the mound for DC, and throwing six stellar innings, was hurler Karsen Forsman.
Forsman scattered just four hits, and walked only two batters, and between him and Quinn Impola, who pitched the seventh, they did not allow a single earned run.
Unfortunately, DC’s offense and defense were not there to back up the performance by its pitchers, as Charger batters mustered just two hits, and its defenders had four errors, resulting in a 3-0 loss to the Tigers.
