Minneapolis, MN – At the beginning of the 2008 season, Dassel-Cokato swimmer Kate Kaiser said she had one goal for her senior year – to make it to the state meet.
Kaiser was been working toward that goal for six years, and after finally achieving it at the Section 3A meet this year, she enjoyed the fruits of all her labor as she swam in the 2008 Class A Minnesota State Girls’ Swimming and Diving Meet.
In the Section 3A meet Kaiser qualified for state in the 200-yard individual medley event with a eighth-place time of 2:21.26 to beat the state cut time and mark a personal record.
At the state meet, she finished in a time of 2:23.16 to take 31st place out of 34 swimmers in the event.
Kaiser managed to beat two swimmers in her heat, and one was a girl who had beaten her at the Section 3A meet. Kalin Webskowski of Marshall finished in 2:20.74 at the section meet but took 32nd place behind Kaiser with a time of 2:23.98 at state.
