The Winsted Fire Department received a call to the city’s Security Bank & Trust Wednesday afternoon, due to a smell of smoke within the building. The department responded quickly, evacuated people from the building, and then swept it to determine what might be causing the issue. Winsted Police Chief Justin Heldt said no source of fire or smoke was found.
