bus.accidentHOWARD LAKE, MN – An accident between a Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted school bus and a car driven by an HLWW student occurred on Wright County Road 30 Friday morning, according to HLWW Superintendent Brad Sellner.

There were 14 students on the bus, and one child reported a bump to the head as a result of the accident. However, all the students on the bus were cleared by emergency personnel at the scene. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital to be checked, but was released later that morning, according to Sellner.

“We’re glad everybody is OK, and we’re grateful to all those who helped at the school,” Sellner said. He noted everybody did their jobs well in the stressful situation. The students on the bus were transported to the HLWW High School by another bus, and their parents were notified of the accident before they returned to school, according to Sellner.
