Scam targets McLeod County veterans

McLEOD COUNTY, MN – McLeod County Veteran Services said veterans across the country are being contacted by “patient care group” claiming that they are helping the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to administer prescriptions, stating that the VA pharmacy billing procedures have changed, and will now require the advance payment of future prescriptions. This is followed by a request for the veteran’s card information. This is false. The VA does not call veterans asking them to disclose personal financial information over the phone. The VA has also not changed its processes for dispensing prescription medicines. Any questions should be directed to the nearest VA medical facility.
