Saints split with Montrose-Waverly, Maple Lake

The DC Saints split their last two games in the North Star League, defeating Montrose-Waverly Friday 8-5, and falling to undefeated Maple Lake 18-7 Sunday.

The Saints are now tied for sixth in the NSL with Maple Plain. Both teams sport a 6-8 league record, tied percentage-wise with Howard Lake (7-9).

DC’s win against the Stingers broke an eight-game losing streak. Trent Thinesen had a double, triple, and two RBI, while Jordan Flick picked up the win in relief.

Against Maple Lake, the Lakers scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to go ahead 15-5. Austin Zweibohmer (13 runs in three innings) took the loss.
