Royal girls headed to state

ST. CLOUD, MN – The Watertown-Mayer Royals girls basketball team defeated Eden Valley-Watkins 49-43 Friday at St. Cloud State University in the Section 5AA championship game.
With the win, W-M now advances to the Class 2A state tournament, and will open up tourney action Wednesday, March 17 at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
The Royals will play Braham at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
W-M is now 22-7 on the season.
