Rockets defeat DC boys hoopsters

ROCKFORD – The Chargers outscored the Rockets by seven in the second half, 29-22, but it was not enough to erase a 13-point deficit in a 50-44 loss Tuesday.

“We played pretty well. We didn’t shoot it well in the first half, but we didn’t let that effect our play in other areas,” said Chvojicek. “We made a nice run late, but came up a little short. It was a nice effort in bouncing back after a poor second half vs. Mound Westonka.”

Cade Ortquist led the Chargers with 12 points. Krick finished with a double-double, collecting 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Nick Manthana led the Rockets (12-8, 6-2) with 17 points, while brother Sydney Manthana added 14.
