DASSEL – For the third straight game, the Saints watched an early lead slip away in a 6-4 loss to the visiting Red Devils Sunday.
DC scratched across single runs in the third, fourth, and fifth, to take a 3-0 lead. Watertown scored three in the top of the sixth off starter Tyler Zweibohmer to tie the game at 3-3, but DC responded with a run in the bottom half to go back up, 4-3.
Unfortunately, Watertown scored three runs in the top of the seventh off reliever Austin Zweibohmer to go up 6-4, and held on for victory.
Leffler led the Saints with two hits, with a run scored and two RBI.
Brandel had an RBI double, and added another RBI on a groundout.
