New Germany City Council Member Chip Purcell announced last night that he is quitting the council and the city. His resignation will be effective at the end of the Tuesday, June 17 council meeting. Purcell said he is moving out of the city July 1. He was serving a term that runs through January 2011. The city is seeking applicants to serve the remainder of the term, and any city resident who wants to get involved in local government can obtain an application from city hall.
