According to the National Weather Service, the Herald Journal readership area including Winsted, Lester Prairie, Waverly, Silver Lake, New Germany, Howard Lake, and all points in between, all received somewhere between seven and 10 inches of snow this past weekend, March 9 and 10. Locals who measured the snow themselves say it may have been even more than that.
The staff at Herald Journal braved the elements to capture some of the scenery around the area during and after the big snow. Check out the resulting photos in the gallery here: https://photos.herald-journal.com/Winter-shows-no-mercy-to-entire-HJ-readership-area/i-TCChHxR
If anyone who lives here happened to be out of town last weekend, never fear. The National Weather Service is forecasting rain and fog beginning Wednesday, which eventually turns to snow later Thursday night. Keep those shovels handy!
