Pettit scores her 2,000th career point

HOWARD LAKE, MN – Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted senior Katie Pettit did something Friday that no Laker basketball player has ever done – she scored her 2,000th career point.
The Lakers girls’ basketball team hosted the Kimball Cubs Friday, and in the first half Pettit sank a 3-pointer with about five minutes to play, giving her 15 for the game, and putting her over the 2,000 career point total.
HLWW went on to beat the Cubs 72-34, with Pettit leading the way with 20 points.
