The Lester Prairie School Board is down to three finalists for the superintendent position being vacated by Supt. Joe Miller, who is retiring.
UPDATE:Â The three candidates will be given final interviews 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at the school.
The three candidates are:
• Greg East of Breckenridge,
• Rick Herman of McGregor, who was formerly the superintendent there.
• and Mark Roubinek of Pine City. Previously he was the high school principal at Windom.
These three were pared down from a list of 19 superintendent applications of which six applicants were initially selected to be interviewed.
Lester Prairie School Board will look to fill three positions, served by Jeff Hecksel, Melissa Williams and the position served by Bob Carlson, which was just filled by Karla Heigl. All three of these positions are four year terms, despite the fact that Carlson resigned early, since he nearly completed his term.
The choice will be made by the next May meeting; probably May 20, which is the day after the next meeting.
Miller has been superintendent since July of 2005.
