A Hutchinson man was killed in an ATV accident on the Crow River bed near the intersection of Meeker/McLeod Avenue, south of 215th Street, just north of Hutchinson, according to a McLeod County Sheriff’s Office report.
Cory Mitchell Hansen, 33 of Hutchinson was driving a 2006 Honda TRX 450 eastbound on the riverbed when it collided with a 2008 Polaris Ranger RZR 800 driven by Daryl Carl Rath, 40, of Hutchinson, according to the report.
Both parties attempted to stop. Hansen fell off of his machine and stuck his head against Rath’s. Hansen was transported to Hutchinson Community Hospital and died from his injuries.
Rath was also transported to the Hutchinson hospital, and later was air lifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center, according to the report.
