Videotape is being reviewed right now so that authorities can figure out if someone was successful in gaining access to First National Bank in the early morning hours Tuesday (today).
An alarm went off at 3:40 a.m. Feb. 19, which prompted deputies to arrive and find the inner lobby door smashed out, although it is uncertain if there is any loss at this point in time, said Lt. Dan Anselment of the Wright County Sheriff’s Department.
UPDATE FRIDAY: A window at the First National Bank in Cokato was smashed during the early morning hours Tuesday, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. An alarm went off at 3:40 a.m., which prompted deputies to arrive and find the inner lobby door smashed out, said Lt. Dan Anselment of the Wright County Sheriff’s Department. Lt. Todd Hoffman reported that upon review of videotaped surveillance, it was discovered that a lone male entered the bank by throwing something through the window, then going into the bank to retrieve the item. He then left. No loss has been reported from the bank, Hoffman said. In a separate incident, the State Bank of Cokato reported that its ATM had pry marks on it Tuesday, but it is unknown if this is related, or when precisely the marks were made.
