At approximately 2:02 a.m. the Hutchinson Police Department responded to an armed robbery that occurred at Cash Wise Foods. About 10 minutes later, officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66 station on Highway 7 east. In both cases, the male suspect entered the store, “brandishing” a knife, and demanding money. The suspect only received an “undisclosed amount” of money at the Phillips station, but not at Cash Wise Foods. Also, no one was injured. The police department is actively investigating these robberies. Even though the suspect was described slightly different in both cases, the investigation is investigating the possibility these crimes are related.
