Motorcycle accident in Cosmos kills Hutchinson man

COSMOS, MN – Steven William Quast, age 54, of Hutchinson was killed in a motorcycle accident Nov. 6 when he when he struck a deer and lost control, according to a Meeker County Sheriff’s report.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. on CSAH 1, ¼ of a mile north of MN Hwy 7. Meeker County Deputies, Cosmos Police, Cosmos Fire and Cosmos Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

Investigation shows that Quast was southbound on CSAH 1 on a 1987 Harley Davidson motorcycle that he
was riding. The motorcycle rolled several times and came to rest in the west ditch.

The Minnesota State Patrol assisted the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.

Police refuse to leave weapons in lock box when entering psychiatric hospital

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – Annandale police are refusing to go along with a state psychiatric hospital requirement that officers leave their weapons in a lock box before entering the patient care area, the Annandale Advocate reported.

Cokato man found in his home Nov. 1 died of natural causes

COKATO, MN - A Cokato man was found deceased in his home on 365 Broadway Ave. N. (south of the Baptist church) yesterday, Nov. 1, following a welfare check.
It was determined Robert Wuotila, 66, died of natural causes when he was found by Wright County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to a check welfare call at approximately 10:23 a.m. Sunday.
The deputy coroner was contacted and the Cokato Fire Department also assisted.

Motorcyclist killed in crash north of Annandale

ANNANDALE, MN — A motorcyclist is dead after losing control of his cycle north of Annandale on Highway 24 this afternoon (Nov. 1), according to the State Patrol.

Danny Sipola, 56, of Clearwater was traveling northbound driving a 2000 Honda Road Start on Highway 24 near 105th Street when he left the road and ended up on the west side of the highway.  The road conditions were listed as dry by the State Patrol.

Fatal identified in Wright Co. crash along I-94

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — A St. Cloud man was killed attempting to cross I-94 in Wright County Oct. 29.

Buffalo woman is shot while driving on Hwy. 55

BUFFALO, MN – A Buffalo woman was wounded in the leg by a bullet as she was driving westbound on Highway 55, approaching the City of Buffalo Wednesday, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Sandra Holtze, 67, of Buffalo was driving on Highway 55 at approximately 4:43 p.m. when she was struck by a bullet coming from outside of her vehicle. Officers from the Buffalo Police Department and Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
