Meeker County arrests Cassidy Loch, 24, of Litchfield

MEEKER COUNTY, MN - The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Cassidy Jared Loch, 24, in Litchfield Thursday. Loch was arrested after the Meeker County District Court issued a warrant for Loch’s arrest on the charges of attempted fourth degree assault on a police officer, second degree DWI’s carrying a pistol while intoxicated, and reckless handling of a firearm, according to Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin.

Loch was arrested at his residence without incident and bail is posted at $12,000.

Dassel’s old pumper is not dependable, fire chief says

DASSEL, MN – The Dassel City Council will meet at the fire hall to discuss fire truck bids with the department 6 p.m. (not  7 p.m.) Monday, July 27.

“Our old (pumper) truck is not dependable,” Fire Chief Dale Grochow told the Enterprise Wednesday. The pumper scheduled to be replaced is a 1981 General pumper. A second pumper in the fleet is a 1993 General. Either way, a busy fire department such as Dassel needs the proper equipment, Grochow said. The bid will be awarded at the council’s meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3.

Parking lot dimensions incorrect in council article

In last week’s Cokato City Council story, the dimension of the city-owned parking lot in dispute near the Iron Horse bar was incorrectly reported.  It is 60 feet by 127 feet.

Water to be shut off for two days in Dassel

DASSEL, MN — Residents near the construction work on the south side of Dassel will have two days of water shut offs once again, so that water main work can continue.

Crews have been rolling along at a rapid pace, digging up and laying down new pipe.  The first day of water shut offs will be Thursdsay (July 23) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  The second day will be Friday (July 24), from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

No amber alert for Cokato

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN - The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is aware of a rumored amber alert that has been circulating regarding an alleged abduction of a 3 year old that supposedly occurred in the City of Cokato, according to a public notice on its web site. There is no validity to this alert. There has been no abduction, or attempted abduction in the city of Cokato that has been reported.

Calf is killed during burglary of Hotovec in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON, MN — A small calf was killed and small change stolen during a burglary at the Hotovec Auction Barn, Highway 15, north of Hutchinson,reported the McLeod County Sheriff’s Department.

The burglary was called in at  8:05 a.m, July 2, at which time the sheriff’s office investigated the burglary.  A total of $4 in change was taken.  A holstein bull calf, valued at $147, owned by Donald Klaustermeier of Norwood Young America, was killed also.  This investigation will continue.
