MEEKER COUNTY, MN - Work continues on Meeker County State Aid Highway 15 southeast of Dassel, reported county highway engineer Ron Mortenson during Tuesday’s Meeker County Board of Commissioners meeting. Because funds are low, Mortenson recommended the county go with bituminous instead of concrete which is more expensive, but has a longer lifespan than bituminous. Since the road doesn’t get heavy traffic nor heavy equipment usage, Mortenson said bituminous would be appropriate for this road. The board approved the use of bituminous. The bids for the grading and paving will be open Tuesday, May 12.
