A fire fully engulfed a barn Jan. 16 north of Dassel.
DASSEL, MN – The Dassel Fire Department, Dassel Rescue, Cokato Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the fire at 23911 Meeker County State Aid Highway 4.
Kristen Lee, the property owner, said a passerby noticed fire coming from the rear of the barn, and notified the family immediately.
No animals were in the barn, only tools. A portion of the barn was sectioned off as a shop area. It contained a wood stove, which is suspected to be the cause of the fire. A family member had time to get a few items out of the barn before emergency responders arrived, according to Meeker County Sheriff’s Captain Brad Lindgren.
