Three fish houses were burglarized the night of Dec. 17 on Lake Washington. The first fish house, also damaged by forceful entry, belongs to Russel Stueber of New Ulm. Stolen items included a DVD player, tackle box, batteries, and rods and reels, totaling $840, according to Meeker County Deputy Captain Brad Lindgren. A 19-year-old Hutchinson man was arrested after allegedly breaking into his own home and stealing a car, jewelry, some money and other items, reported WCCO.
Hutchinson Police told WCCO that the man lured his other family members away Friday afternoon by making a dinner reservation for them in Chanhassen. Then, while they were away, he broke into the home and took off in the car. He’s now in the McLeod County jail, awaiting possible burglary and auto theft charges.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office issued a correction on a news released issued recently about an accident at Highway 15 and 345th Street, near Kimball, Dec. 14. “The driver of the motor vehicle was erroneously reported as Gary Sandell when the driver should have been listed as Debra Sandell of Cokato,” the sheriff’s office reported. Nominations are being sought for the Wright County Child Care Provider of the Year. Deadline for nominations is Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009. The chosen provider will be honored at a banquet. The Saturday evening banquet honors Wright County’s honoree and more than 40 other childcare providers selected by local communities as the county’s Provider of the Year.
