Waverly driver charged in triple fatal crash

MIDDLEVILLE TOWNSHIP, MN - A Waverly driver was charged with six counts of vehicular homicide Friday in relation to an accident that took the life of three of his friends.

Debris cleared in Cokato

COKATO, MN – Much of the debris left from the demolition Oct. 24 of the building at 290 Millard Ave., Cokato, was cleared from the site Thursday. The property is owned by Reed Carlson of Cokato.

Daylight savings time to end Nov. 2

COKATO, MN – Daylight savings time for 2008 ends Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 a.m. (set your clocks back one hour).
Fire departments also remind this is good time to change batteries in smoke detectors.

100 years of pipe organ music

COKATO, MN – One hundred years of pipe organ music will be celebrated Sunday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. at North Crow River Lutheran Church, 45 Quinell Ave., Cokato.
The event includes an organ recital, hymn sing, and refreshments.

DC winter sports meeting Nov. 3

DASSEL-COKATO, MN – Dassel-Cokato winter sports meetings will be Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
Participants (grades 7-12), along with a parent are required to attend and receive information from their coach regarding their individual activity.
All meetings will be in the high school – boys basketball in the choir room; girls basketball in the middle school commons; gymnastics in the FACS room; boys swimming in west gym; and wrestling in the media center.
Junior high and varsity speech participants will sign up and get paper work that evening in HS room 320. JH season begins December, varsity begins January.
Boys hockey will have a meeting the same evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Litchfield Civic Arena community room.
Cheerleading will meet at a later date.
All participants’ eligibility paper work should be on file in the activities office prior to attending their team meeting and the eligibility card can be given to the coach that evening. If you have any questions, call Theresa at (320) 286-4100, extension 1811.
