Organic foods to be sold at Little Red Hen Thursday

Michael and Mindy Housman will begin selling organic foods the last Thursday of the month at The Little Red Hen shop in Dassel. The Housman’s have an organic farm north of Dassel. They will be selling lamb, eggs, baked goods, and in the coming months, garden produce. There will also be sign-ups for free-range chicken and turkey for ordering. Check out the Housman’s at The Little Red Hen the last Thursday of the month (beginning June 26) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bloodmobile today in Cokato

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Cokato Monday, June 23 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.

Creation science seminar today

Discover the truth about dinosaurs, the Ice Age, and the real age of the earth in a seven-part video creation science seminar by Dr. Kent Hovind beginning Monday, June 23 at 6 p.m. at Cokato City Hall, and will continue the following two Mondays, June 30, and July 7.
Topical questions include: “Is the world millions of years old?” “What about an Ice Age and Global Warming?” Did we come from monkeys? And more.

Music at the Twine Ball today

Music entertainment is planned at the Darwin Twine Ball Museum Monday, June 23 at 7 p.m. featuring well-known musician, Terry Shaw. Refreshments will be served.

Boat, trailer come unhitched

The Meeker County Sheriff’s deputies received a report late at night June 10 of suspicious activity on 185th Street and 705th Avenue, Dassel.
Deputies found a boat and trailer in the ditch with fishing tackle strewn about. The boat and trailer were towed to the Meeker County Impound Lot.
Meanwhile, Theron Thoreson of Montrose arrived home, noticed his boat and trailer had come unhitched from the car, and were missing. He picked up his boat and trailer later, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.

Keep vehicles locked this summer

Money was stolen June 13 from a truck trailer at a residence on 6th Street South in Dassel.
The thief made off with $15. Meeker County Sheriff’s Captain Brad Lindgren is reminding residents to keep their vehicles locked during the summer, when there are more people outside. Also, call the sheriff’s office if suspicious people are spotted lurking around vehicles, he added.
