A Mayer couple were arrested recently following a search Carver County Sheriff’s Office where drugs and a short-barreled shotgun were recovered.
Arrested were Michael Leroy Spiering and Jennifer Ann Spiering of Mayer on felony drug charges and possession of a short-barreled shotgun. The investigation was conducted by agents of the Southwest Metro Drug Task Force including deputies with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
A narcotics search warrant was executed Tuesday at 309 Ash Avenue North Mayer. Agents searched the home and located a small amount marijuana, digital scale, drug paraphernalia, trace amount of methamphetamine along with a methamphetamine pipe and a short-barreled shotgun.
As a result of the investigation on March 27, Michael Leroy Spiering, 34 and Jennifer Ann Spiering, 34, of Mayer were charged with Fifth Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance and possession of a short-barreled shotgun, both which are felony level crimes.
The Spierings were released from custody March 27 after each posted $500 cash bail.
