NEW GERMANY, MN – The City of New Germany is looking to fill a vacancy on the City Council. The person selected to fill the vacancy will hold the position until a special election is held on November 3, 2020, to elect an individual to serve the remainder of the unexpired term. A person interested in being appointed to fill the vacancy may choose to run in the election, but is not required to run for election.
Interested parties should submit council application packet and letter of interest by May 7, via email (email@example.com) or deliver/mail to City Hall (P O Box 177, New Germany, MN 55367). In order to be appointed, applicants must be a resident of the City of New Germany, eligible to vote in the State of Minnesota, and be 21 years of age or more. Anyone who meets these requirements and is interested in helping to shape the future of New Germany, is encouraged to contact the city clerk-treasurer for a council application packet and submit a letter which includes why they are interested in the position, and why they think they would be a good representative of the residents of New Germany. Application packet and letters will be accepted until May 7,at 4:30 p.m. The council hopes to fill this vacancy at their May 21, 2019 meeting.
