Benefit set for Fri-Sat., Aug. 1-2 for crash victims
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” is the benefit that will be conducted Friday and Saturday, Aug 1 and 2, at the HLWW High School, for the four families involved in an accident that claimed the life of Madey Kleve, and injured three of her classmates; Mitch Bayerl, Kacie Carlsted, and Brie Barfknecht. The HLWW and DC drama clubs are partnering with St. John’s Lutheran Church of Howard Lake to plan the benefit. On Aug. 1st there will be a dinner, a silent auction, and a showing of “The Snake in the Grass” (a melodrama written by Tim Kelly). The dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the show beginning at 8.
The drama clubs will again perform on the 2nd, this time beginning at 7:30 p.m. Suggested donations are $10 for the meal, $5 for a kids meal, and $10 for the show. Matching funds will be applied for through Wright County Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. For donation information please call St. John’s Lutheran Church at (320) 543-2227. For ticket information please call HLWW Community Education Office at (320) 543-3600. (There is a limited number of seats for the show).
