The Carver County Historical Society will participate in the fourth annual museum day, Saturday, Sept. 27, presented by Smithsonian magazine.
Museum day is a day when museums and cultural institutions nationwide open their doors free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsoian.com visitors.
In a celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian’s Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, DC-based properties.
Last year, more than 100,000 people attended museum day.
All 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented by 651 participating museums.
The Carver County Historical Society is located at 555 West First Street in Waconia, across the street from Bay View Elementary School.
Their hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
