McLeod County Board appoints Langenfeld as sheriff

MCLEOD COUNTY – The McLeod County Board appointed Chief Deputy Timothy Langenfeld to the sheriff position vacated by Scott Rehmann at its meeting Tuesday.

Rehmann retired as sheriff following a stroke.  Board members had the option of appointing someone to fill Rehmann’s current term or seeking applicants.  Rehmann’s term ran through 2023.

Langenfeld has served as chief deputy for 14 years, and Rehmann recommended that he be chosen to fill his term.

Langenfeld is a resident of Winsted.
