A man was struck and killed while he was standing by the side of the road in Clearwater Township Tuesday night, according to Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) and KARE-11 News.

A Ford F-150 was reportedly driving southbound Jan. 3 around 7:18 p.m., on Highway 24 just south of St. Cloud, in the direction of a Chrysler Cirrus that was in a ditch on the right shoulder.

The Ford truck hit the driver of the Chrysler, Scott Joseph Hollencamp, 36, from Maple Lake, while he was standing on the road’s shoulder, officials said.

Hollencamp was declared dead at the scene.

Officials said the driver of the Ford, Andre Deontay Clark, 34, of  Kimball, was not hurt.

Minnesota State Patrol said roads were icy at the time of the incident.
