Locals file for township positions


WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – Four area townships will be electing new officials Tuesday, March 10.

The deadline to file was Jan. 13.

A few local exceptions are Hollywood, Camden, Bergen, and Winsted townships, which conducted their elections in the fall.

Victor Township
In Victor Township, David Hoover’s term as supervisor is up, along with Sean Groos’ term as treasurer.

Groos re-filed for the treasurer position, and David Glessing and Ryan Bakeburg filed for the supervisor position.

Middleville Township
In Middleville, Judy Forst re-filed as treasurer, and Jim Jacobson re-filed as supervisor.

Woodland Township
Woodland Township features two open seats, including the supervisor position of Dan Domjahn and the treasurer position of Paula Wood Lavigne.

Both incumbants re-filed.

Marysville Township
In Marysville Township, Jane Hurley is running for supervisor, to fill the remaining year in the position previously held by Dick Sawatzke. (Sawatzke passed away in June 2014, and Hurley had been appointed to his seat.)

The three-year supervisor position of Augie Riebel is also up, and Riebel has re-filed.
