Local girls among the Minneapolis Aquatennial festival

Five local girls, Miss Howard Lake Krystal Gatz, past Fairest of the Fair Courtney Heuer, former Montrose Ambassador Deidra VanderGrift, Miss Waverly Abby Sawatzke, and Miss Winsted Lindsay Ide, will be among the approximately 50 candidates to go through a rigorous judging process to become the Queen of the Lakes or one of the two Aquatennial Princesses during the Minneapolis Aquatennial Monday, July 21 through Saturday, July 26.
The coronation will take place Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Ted Mann Hall on the University of Minnesota campus.
Anyone interested in sending any of the girls well-wishes and/or flowers should send them to the Minneapolis Marriott City Center, 30 South Seventh Street, Minneapolis, MN 55402; phone, (612) 349-4000.

Flowers should be sent directly to the front desk with both the candidate’s name and community, and the phrase “Aquatennial Hospitality Room.”
