Local city and township filings start July 31

McLEOD, CARVER, WRIGHT COUNTIES, MN – The filing period for people seeking a local city, school, or township office at the November election will not start until Tuesday, July 31.
Cities, schools, and townships in the Herald Journal coverage area are not affected by the Tuesday, Aug. 14 primary.
Therefore, those filing periods will start Tuesday, July 31 and end Tuesday, Aug. 14, with a withdrawal deadline of Thursday, Aug. 16.
Filings and withdrawals are due by 5 p.m.
The filing period for county commissioner seats in McLeod, Carver, and Wright counties began May 22, and will close Tuesday, June 5, with a withdrawal deadline of Thursday, June 7.
