There will not be school on Friday, March 8.

The next scheduled two-hour late start will be on Tuesday, March 12.

The conferences that were scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 will be held on Tuesday, March 12 from 4 – 8 pm. Elementary schedules will be held at the times that were originally scheduled. Conferences scheduled fro Thursday, March 7 from 4 – 8 pm will remain the same.

The Girls Basketball Game against MLV that was scheduled for last night will be held tonight at 8:00 at Gustavus in St. Peter.

There will be a fan bus for tonight’s girls basketball playoff game.  Cost for the bus will be $4 and you must sign up by noon today.  The bus will leave HT 5:45 and LP at 6:00.

There will be a fan bus for the boys basketball game Thursday night at Mankato West.  Cost will be $4 and you must sign up by noon on Thursday.  The bus will leave HT at 5:15 and LP at 5:30.

Auditions for the spring play will be held Thursday, March 7th, at 7:00 – 7:45 am and 3:00 – 3:45 pm at Holy Trinity.

There will be pep band for tonight’s game.  Bus times remain the same-5:30 HT 5:45 LP. Students with religious commitments are excused but please let Mrs. Helland know so she knows who to expect on the bus.

Mrs. Helland’s conferences will be on Thursday night.

7th grade CmPS/FPS team: Your permission slip and $6 need to get to Ms. Edlund as soon as possible (by tomorrow if you can!)  Please do not wait to turn these in.  Thank you!

High School Band Students: Reminder that Large Group Contest is Thursday March 7th. You will need to wear your concert black. We will leave school by 8:30am and return by 1pm. Please bring $9 for lunch by Wednesday.

The Knowledge Bowl Meet has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 12 at Granite Falls. The bus will leave H.T. at 6:45 am and LP at 7:00 am.

Grades 7, 8 and 9 PE classes will be going outside today and tomorrow. Bring snow wear!

The Lester Prairie High School Junior Class is selling Club’s Choice pizza’s cheese cakes, cookie dough, etc….from March 4th- March 18th, to fundraise for their class trip next year.  If you would like to order and have not been contacted by a Junior, please contact Mr. or Mrs. Scoblic.

The LP Foundation for Education is looking for wicker baskets or similar containers to use for packaging up Bulldog Bash auction items.  If you’ve got any that you would be willing to donate, please get them to Kelli Machemehl.  Thanks so much.

Student Council: There has been a change from what I told you in the meeting–Student Council will be doing the teacher meal for conferences on Thursday, March 7th. See the note outside of my room for more information on what to bring. Thanks!

The Lester Prairie Sportsman’s Club will be offering a youth certification CD Based Snowmobile Safety Training Course.  Registration and CD handout will be Wednesday March 6 between 5:30p and 6:30p at the Lester Prairie Sportsman’s Club.  A one day class will be held on Saturday March 16 which includes classroom review of priority safety information and a performance driving course. Reminder: all track, softball and baseball players need to turn in forms and payment to the office before you will be able to practice.

BULLDOG BOOSTER CLUB SPRING APPAREL. Baseball, Softball and Track and Field shirts are available from the Booster Club. Order forms are available in the high school lobby by the apparel display case. Order Deadline is March 11.

SUMMER YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL Registration is now underway. All Lester Prairie elementary students should have received a registration form sent home with them. Junior and Senior high students can pick up registration forms in the office. Registration nights are March 5th and 7th in the school lobby or you may turn in your completed forms to the school office. DEADLINE TO REGISTER is March 22. Any questions, can be directed to Jeff Engen 395-9839.

PCA services needed for Lester Prairie resident. PCA training will be available free of charge. The hours needed for client in Lester Prairie, he is needing AM hours 8am-4pm, and PM hours are 3:30pm-8pm. I can split them up into 3 shifts if needed. Must be 17 or 18 years old to apply. Please see Mrs. Mattson if interested.

Anyone interested in Classroom Driver’s Education pick up a registration form by Mr. Bjork’s door.  You must be 14 1/2 years old by June 3.  Deadline to register is May 24th.  Make sure to check the dates carefully as you MUST attend all 10 class sessions.  See Mr. Bjork with any questions.

The school gym will be open from 7:30 am to 8:00 am on a trial basis for students in grades 6-12 wanting to shoot baskets, bump volleyballs, or run. Street shoes will NOT be allowed. Also, the stage is off limits. The supervisor will be a volunteer so please be respectful.

Needed: Parent/adult volunteers to supervise in the school gym from 7:25 to 8:00 am. You can sign up for one day or as many as you’d like. We would like this facility to be available during he school year but need volunteers to supervise. If you have 30 minutes in the morning, please consider signing up! The sign up calendar will be in the school office. Call MerriLea Kyllo at 320-395-2779 or talk to Jeremy Schmidt at 320-395-2521 if you have questions.

Students will not be allowed in the hallways in the morning until the first bus arrives which is about 7:50 a.m. You may leave the library at 7:50 a.m. Also, no food or drink will be allowed in the hallway in the morning before school. Please eat or drink in the cafeteria.

We will have homework help in the morning from 7:00-8:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Students may come to the Media Center on these mornings for help. We will still have homework help from 3-4 on Monday-Thursday after school.

Lester Prairie Foundation for Education’s BULLDOG BASH tickets are now available!  They are avaible in the school office and from any Foundation Board Member.  The date is Saturday, April 6, 2013.  Get your tickets now and enjoy and a great evening out with your family and friends!

The Winsted Fish Fry will be held on Friday, March 8 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted. The menu includes fish fillets, potato salad, baked beans, french fries, cole slaw, bread, milk, coffee. The cost for advance tickets is $10, at the door $12, children 6 to 10 $5, 5 and under free. The drive thru will be from 3:0 to 7:00 pm.

Our 7th Annual Carnival date has been set for Wednesday March 27, from 5:00-7:30. The Carnival is one of the school’s biggest fund raisers and it can’t happen without you! Over 70 volunteers are needed for the following shifts.

4:00-5:00-setup (moving tables from classrooms to gym, bring in games from truck)

5:00-6:30-first game shift

6:30-8:00-second game shift/cleanup (game volunteers will be asked to help pack up their games)

7:30-8:15-cleanup (help move tables back to rooms and bring games to truck)

You can request a specific game for a specific shift or just identify which shift you can volunteer for and you will be assigned to a game.
