Attention High School Students/Parents:  The LP Parents for Education group is once again sponsoring a giving tree called “Tools for Teachers” for the High School teachers. We’ve collected wish lists from high school teachers and put tags with the requested items on a tree on the trophy case in the high school lobby.  Each tag has a teacher’s name and item(s) they have requested for their classrooms.  Please stop by and take a look at the tree – there are a variety of items in different price ranges that are easy to purchase at retail stores or online.  If you’d like to donate, go ahead and take a tag(s) for the items you wish to donate -  Purchase the item(s) – write your name on the back of the tag and deliver the gift to the drop box in the high school office (by January 10, 2012).  The tree will be up until Christmas break or all the tags are gone. Please join us in sharing the spirit of this wonderful season!

Any student, 10th grade or above, interested in running the clock for junior high and c-squad basketball games, come see Mr. Johnson.

The “Christmas Store” will be held for the elementary students on Friday, December 7th. We are asking for help with supplies and volunteers to continue this great program. The supplies we could use are ribbon, wrapping paper, tape, small boxes and/or bags to wrap, presents (small items no more than $5) and other wrapping or decorating supplies. Any and all help is appreciated. Please have supplies brought to the school by Wed., Dec. 5th. Thanks for your continued support!

Our school is participating in the Register Tapes for Education program! It´s a FANTASTIC way for us to earn much needed FREE equipment and supplies for our students. Please save your register receipts from PRAIRIE MARKET and turn them in to the school! LESTER PRAIRIE SCHOOL can earn some wonderful items with each and every receipt, so please don’t forget to save them for us! Thank you!

The locker room doors and gym doors are locked. Teachers and coaches will have to let you in.

The National Honor Society is collecting Toys for Mary’s Place until December 14th. Our school-wide goal is to collect at least 250 toys. If we reach our goal of 250, each grade will be rewarded with a movie party before the Christmas break. The toys must be new/unused and for all age groups. Please support the cause and start collecting!

Mary’s Place Update: We have collected 40 toys thus far. Our goal is to collect 250 toys. Remember the prize will be a movie on the last ay of school before holiday break.

The National Honor Society will be selling candy canes on December 10th through December 14th. Candy Canes can be purchased during lunch hours and will cost $1.00 each.

Homework Help has started again! Homework Help is open to anyone in grades K-12.  It will take place from 3-4 p.m. on Monday-Thursday.  We will try to have a teacher and at least one para there each night.  Students must stay from 3-4 p.m. if they are signed up or if they sign up on their own so the staff can focus on helping and not checking students in or out. Homework help will take place in the media center.

The boys basketball team is looking for someone to be a student manager or take stats. If anyone is interested, please talk to Mr. Machemehl or Mr. Johnson.

Trap team members:  Please turn in any sold raffle tickets and money to Mr. Bjork as you get them sold.  That way we don’t have tickets and money floating around.  The goal is to have all the tickets sold by 12/20/12.  I have requested another 100 tickets.

We have a collection box at school for used indoor and outdoor Christmas lights. You may also include power cords that you no longer use or need. We will continue collecting lights through the end of January.
