October 6-12 is Fire Prevention Week!
Butterbraids will be delivered Wednesday, Oct. 9. They can be picked up between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please make arrangements as they are a frozen product!
Parent Teacher Conference:
Conferences will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10 and Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. both days. Elementary students have assigned conference times and parents may drop in and talk to high school teachers at any time on either of the nights. Hope to see all parents at conferences!
Due to her part time status, Mrs. Helland will only be available for conferences on Tuesday, Oct. 15. If that time does not work for you and you would still like to meet, please contact her to set up a time.
As Mrs. Wood shares her time with Holy Trinity Schools, she will only be available for the Thursday, Oct. 10 conferences. If you are unable to meet with her on Thursday and would will like a conference, please email her to set up an alternate time.
Come and get your flu shot during conferences on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019. The flu vaccination clinic will be held that day from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Anyone age 6 months and older may receive the vaccination. Bring your insurance card or you may pay with cash. Consent forms are available in the office.
The school dental fluoride treatment, cleaning and sealants consent forms are due by Wednesday, Oct. 16. This is a wonderful service proved by licensed dental professionals. Students in preschool through 12th grade may participate. Additional forms are available in the school office.
There will be a fan bus to the Glenville-Emmons game on Friday, Oct. 11. The cost is $10 and the bus will leave H.T. at 3:00 p.m. and L.P. at 3:15 p.m.
October 7-11 is National 4-H Week!
Any person in grades kindergarten through one year past high school graduation can join 4-H! You don’t even need to live on a farm. In fact, more McLeod County 4-H members live in town than on a farm.
The following items are needed for the fall play:
1 Dollie (to move boxes)
3 to 4 oily rags
fake flowers (enough to fill a wagon)
1 black cloak
1 small stool (the size for someone who would be milking a cow)
1 fairy costume (that would fit a teenage girl)
1 bike pump
1 pair of boys’ pajamas (that would fit a 13 year old boy; preferably with buttons/collar on the shirt and matching bottoms)
red bed sheets (2 or more)
2 lawn chairs
1 pocket watch
Seniors are selling pies from Carlson’s Apple Orchard. They are selling until Oct. 25 and will be delivered Nov. 15.
There are a lot of articles in the lost and found on the elementary side of the building. Please check to see if you are missing anything. All articles will be discarded on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The next free lunch for high school will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Bethel Church.
Attention 9th – 12th grades: The Lester Prairie Lions are sponsoring an essay contest on how you step out of your comfort zone to influence others. There will be cash prizes! Who doesn’t like winning money?!? Students who are participating in the Lions Club essay contest should turn their essays in to Ms. Carmine by Friday, October 11.
Juniors and Seniors:
The Military Release Forms are due ASAP
The ACT Permission and Money are due on Monday, Oct. 28.
Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 in Room 126.
Holy Trinity is once again having their Halloween Bash for students in grades 5-12! This event is open to anyone in the community whether they are an H.T. student, Religious Ed. Student, L.P. student or whatever! The Bash is on Friday, Oct. 25 and permission slips and payment are due by Monday, Oct. 21. Permission slips are available in the L.P. school office.
Sign up for Just for Kix dance classes by calling 507-581-2144 or going to email@example.com. Classes begin Oct. 14 and run through Nov. 19. There are classes for ages 18 months to 12th grade.
4th, 5th and 6th grade youth football practice will start earlier at 5:45 p.m. and finish at 7:15 p.m. starting with the Tuesday, Oct. 1 practice. Also, please note that games scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5 have been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 12 due to a scheduling conflict at Roberts Park. Game times will be the same.
