Repurpose. Reuse. Recycle. A fundraiser for the Lester Prairie schools with supplementary donations from Marsden and GreenSneakers. GreenSneakers represents the reuse portion of today’s popular ‘green’ trend. The shoes LP collects are made available for reuse as affordable footwear in some of the neediest countries around the world. Potential destinations can include central African nations, South American regions and Haiti. Shoes are also given to capable agencies handling large scale disaster and humanitarian relief efforts. There are two containers for shoes, one by the main office and the other by Mrs. Vertetis’s room. Shoes will then be processed at a facility and pay us 50¢ per pound! A pair of sneakers can weigh up 2 pounds, which means earnings of about a $1 per pair. Only SNEAKERS ARE ALLOWED, no dress shoes or boots. Please tie the shoes together before putting them in the container. This fundraiser will run through May 30.
