There will not be school on Friday, January 18 because it is the end of the second semester and on Monday, January 21 due to the Martin Luther King Holiday.

The unofficial results of Lester Prairie School District’s special election are in, and voters have authorized the district to transfer $755,446 in remaining bond proceeds to be used for school improvements including a sprinkler system, asbestos abatement, and roof repairs. According to Superintendent Mike McNulty, the vote, which took place today, was 82 percent “yes” and 18 percent “no,” with 14 percent of registered, plus new voters voting.

There will be homework help today!

Starting Tuesday, January 22nd the National Honor Society will be sponsoring one of their biggest schoowide projects, Pennies for Patients. The Pennies for Patients project is a campaign to help raise money to find a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma found in children. Our schoolwide goal is to raise a total of $2,013. With the help of everyone in the school, we are sure we can reach and even to above and beyond our goal. The high school and elementary class that collects the largest sum of money by Friday, February 15th, will receive a prize.

Also, in an effort to exceed our goal, the National Honor Society will be selling suckers for 50¢ a piece at all home events during the weeks of the campaign. On behalf of the National Honor Society, we encourage everyone to participate in this project. The contributions you make can go a long way to help save lives, so please help us make a difference.
